The cold air slightly irritates her nose passageway. She was standing at the edge of a cliff and could just about make out the grey clouds approaching the coast from the dark horizon.
A loud crash from below caught her attention.
Her breath felt warm against her cheeks. She looked down at the waves crashing into the jagged rocks, one after another.
Water. The force of nature. There was something intoxicating about nature taking its course.
She looked back, her hair flapping wildly against her face in the wind. His face was blank of emotion as he reached a hand out.
Her body felt heavy as she turned around and walked the short distance to stand in front of him, her hands firmly by her side. He dropped his hand and looked behind her.
"It's time to go."
She nodded once and followed him as he turned around and walked to their car.
Back to reality, she thought cynically.
